NC Jazz Beat

When we decided to crank this site up, I first tried to find existing websites which already filled the same need.  All I found at the time was a mechanically-generated site that probably had sister sites for many other metropolitan areas.

Later I happened on Ed Furtick's hand-crafted blog which tracks some of the events in the area.  Mr. Furtick is well known to musicians in the area as perhaps their most reliable supporter.  Peter Burke's blog, Locavore Jazz, and the WNCU Jazz Calendar are other nice resources.  These blogs have a personal touch from people who have seen more jazz here and elsewhere than I ever will, and they frequently know about performances that I am not privy to, so definitely check them out.
